Coordinating MEP systems across cellar, first floor, second floor, and attic levels.
Meeting 2022 NYC Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fuel Gas Codes and the 2020 NYC Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC).
Replacing outdated plumbing and mechanical systems while preserving structural integrity.
The Horizon MEP Solution
Designed a multi-zone HVAC system using high-efficiency heat pump split systems (1–2 ton capacities) with dedicated exhaust for bathrooms, laundry, and kitchens.
Developed a complete LED lighting and power distribution plan with GFCI-protected, weather-resistant exterior receptacles.
Engineered a new gas-fired water heater (100 MBH) and a coordinated sanitary waste and vent system with freeze protection for cold areas.
All systems were designed to pass NYC Special Inspections and meet NYCECC energy performance requirements.
The Result
A fully integrated, permit-ready MEP design that maximized usable living space and enabled smooth construction with high-efficiency long-term performance.
